This dashboard provides a summary of the COLOSS honey bee winter mortality survey for Belgium and for the season 2022-2023. The data comes from an on-line questionnaire completed on a voluntary basis (with the biases that this may entail). We used only the 764 answers considered as valid after careful quality checks.

Mortality estimates
Mortality expressed in % (
nb colonies before winter - after winter * 100 / nb colonies before winter).
CIlow and CIup = 95% Confidence Interval (“CI”
based on Quasibinomial GLM).
i.e. these values represent a range of plausible values for the
mortality estimates. The estimates tend to be more precise (narrower CI
range) when the number of apiaries and colonies used in the computation
is larger.
